Life Reflections “For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4: 6-7Cathy Sue Donahue was born April 1,1958 in Lancaster South Carolina. She was the ninth child of Ida Broom Donahue and Limuel Donahue. After an extended illness she departed this life to a place of eternal rest on Sunday, January 28. 2024 at MUSC Lancaster Hospital.Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death: Eddie, Johnny, Mitchell (Peanut) and Janice Lynn. Cathy was educated in the public school system of Lancaster County. At an early age she began a career in retail where she mostly enjoyed working in thrift stores. She loved pictures and pretty figurines. Her favorite pastime besides collecting family photos was to color in adult coloring books. Cathy was a die-hard Nascar fan, Dale Earnhardt was her favorite race car driver. She was also a lover of music. A few of her favorite musicians were Aaron Nevells, Alabama, Linda Ronstadt, Vince Gill and Tupac. Cathy adored her family, loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and was crazy about her fur-babies-Peaches, Bugar and Sissy. She thought the world of her church family and never missed an opportunity to be with them until here health failed.She leaves to cherish her fond memories: Three children, Mrs. Kelly Lynn (Aundre) Duggins, Summerville, SC, Christopher Rollins, Lancaster SC, Michelle (Corey) Rollins, Myrtle Beach, SC. Two sisters, Diane (Wayne) Jones, Lancaster, SC, Pat (Mitchell) Austin, one brother Ronnie (Geraldine) Donahue, Lancaster SC Eleven grandchildren-Sierra, Tyree, Courtney, Jessica, Sylvester, Johnathan, MaKayla, Hailey, Chris Jr, Ke’Aundre, and Jaeden. Nine great-grandchildren, Anaiya, Gabriel, Araiah, Eli, Nathaniel, Lyric, London, Prize and Lacey a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; her best friend of over 50 years Denise Flynn and Sarah Singletary which she referred to as her angel. A service to celebrate the life of Cathy will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ - Rock Hill with the Rev. Chance Blackmer officiating. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Ms. Donahue.
