Larry Preston Lear

Mr. Larry Preston Lear, 80, of Lancaster passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at MUSC-Lancaster. He was born January 3, 1944 in Ruby, SC, a son of the late J C Lear and Mary Jordan Lear.Mr. Lear was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Antioch Masonic Lodge. He loved fast cars and loved working on them. Mr. Lear enjoyed going on vacation to the beach and mountains and going out to Jack’s to spend time with the retirees.Mr. Lear is survived by two sons, Marty Thomas Lear and his wife Kendra of Lancaster and Jeffrey Lear and his wife Debra of Warner Robbins, GA; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Heather, and a brother-in-law Ronnie Rollings, of Mt. Croghan, SC and a special niece Cheryl Melton and husband (Wayne) of Jefferson, SC. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Kathryn Truesdale Lear; a daughter, Julie Lear; two brothers, Perry Lear and Harold Lear; and two sisters, Linda Rollings, and Louise Spence.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Lancaster Funeral Home.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Lear.Read Obituary
