Mary Rebecca Funderburk Phillips

Mrs. Mary Rebecca Funderburk Phillips, 77, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her home. She was born May 7, 1946 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Willie Lynn Funderburk and George B. Funderburk.Mrs. Phillips was an accomplished musician who played the piano and organ at New Hope Baptist Church for 47 years. She was a social worker and retired from the SC Department of Social Services. Mrs. Phillips loved gardening and admiring her flowers. She also loved her children and grandchildren.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Phillips will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Wright officiating.Mrs. Phillips is survived by her son, James David Phillips and his wife Amanda of Lancaster; her daughter, Missy Tooley and her husband Dennis of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Matthew White (Heather), Thaddeus Sherwood (Courtney), Aaron Phillips (Emily), Arielle Thomas Silk, Bailey Wilson, and Genna Turer; and two great grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Lancaster Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to LSPCA, P.O.
