Mrs. Paula Gladden Williams, 69, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at MUSC-Lancaster. She was born January 6, 1955 in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late William Harvey Gladden and Mary Pearson Gladden. Mrs. Williams was a Girl Scout leader for 13 years. She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Williams enjoyed cooking and vacationing in the mountains. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Lonnie “Bob” Williams of Lancaster; two daughters, Barbara Whitaker of Lancaster and Amanda W. Koehler and her husband Billy of Columbia; a sister, Pat Smith of Kings Mountain, NC; three grandchildren, Annabeth Whitaker, Henry Koehler, and Emily Koehler; her adopted daughter, Alexis Geiter of England; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her K-9 companion, Oscar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Harvey Gladden and Don Gladden; and a sister, Rita Parsons.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Williams will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marty Simmons officiating.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Grace Presbyterian Church.Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 1026 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29270 or to Levine Cancer Institute, 1021 Morehead Medical Drive, Charlotte, NC 28204.Notes to the family may be made at www.lancasterfuneralhome.com.

Lonnie: Our hearts and prayers are with you. My mom doesn’t remember many people or events these days, but she remembers Paula well. She still remembers how kind she was to Susan and treasures that memory. Paula was an inspiration to all of us to be our best; she will be missed.
