Roy Edwin Rutland

Mr. Roy Edwin Rutland, 79, of Lancaster passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home. He was born May 10, 1944, in Greenville, a son of the late Edgar Harvey Rutland Jr. and Betty LulaBelle Stringfield Rutland. Mr. Rutland was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. He was employed with Founders Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed golfing, singing, playing the guitar, and working on multiple projects around the home. Mr. Rutland loved spending time with his family. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rutland will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Weeks, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Jessie Adams officiating. Mr. Rutland is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rutland of Lancaster; three sons, Michael Rutland (Kathy) of Greenwood, SC, Timmy Rutland (Cindy) of Fort Lawn, SC and Matt Rutland (Sarah) of Oberlin, OH; a daughter, Mandy Boulware (Billy) of Catawba, SC; three brothers, JB Rutland of Belton, SC, David Rutland of Easley, SC and Dan Rutland of Greenville, SC; a sister, Jeanette Anglin of West Minister, SC; 12 grandchildren, Kristi Butler, Allison Simmons, Paige Coyle, Casey Rutland, TJ Rutland, Brody Hinson CJ Grant, Shelby Grant, Eli Rutland, Evie Rutland, Josiah Rutland and Ruth Rutland; 7 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Cooper.
